Silk Dupioni Bridal Gown with Fantail Skirt

The inspiration for this silk dupioni wedding dress came from two different formal gowns. The bodice features diagonal pleats forming a V shape at the base of the front and back necklines. Three bias bands nip the bodice in at the waist. When viewed from the front, the skirt appears to be a straight sheath. The surprise detail is a pleated insert at center back extending into a short train. Beaded trim accents the top of the pleats.
The gown that inspired the bodice was named #4 on InStyle Magazine's list of Best Dresses of the Decade 2000-2009. For a quick peek, click here.
