Treasures by Tina is located in my home in east central Illinois, near Champaign. Since opening my studio in 1997, I've worked with clients from the local area, from nearby cities such as Chicago and Indianapolis, from many different areas of the United States, and from as far away as France.
The services I offer are based upon over 30 years of dressmaking experience and continuing education. I've received extensive training in couture techniques in master classes with several nationally known authors and instructors including Susan Khalje, Kenneth King, and Claire Shaeffer, and designer Charles Kleibacker.
I am a past President of the Association of Sewing and Design Professionals (ASDP), and have served the national organization as Treasurer and Advertising Manager. I'm a charter member of the Heartland (Indiana) Chapter and a member of the Chicago Chapter. I'm also a member of the American Sewing Guild.
I take pride in designing and constructing couture wedding gowns and other special occasion garments that meet the Standards of Quality for Custom Clothing endorsed by ASDP. These standards encompass the major areas of expertise a professional custom clothier must practice in order to consistently produce quality garments, including visual design, sewing technique, and proper fit.
In the photo at left, I'm pictured with designer David Sassoon, who was honored by ASDP with its 2008 Lifetime Achievement Award. Mr. Sassoon has been a favorite designer of many British royals, most famously Diana, Princess of Wales. Through the years, he has generously made many of his designs available through Vogue Patterns, and I am wearing a dress I created using one of those patterns.
